Barry Otto is an Emmy-nominated technical director, engineer and video director who brings over 25 years of experience to every show, event, venue and project.
His passion for entertainment emerged before he even graduated from high school when he created and launched his own audio/DJ company. Completing college with an engineering degree, he took his first post-grad steps into the professional spotlight as a full-time lighting director at a downtown Detroit theater. A lifelong career in production followed.
Barry’s technical, design and creative skills have made him part of some of the most-exciting entertainment events ever, in support of some of the most-talented people on the planet as well as some of the largest and dynamic Tech and manufacturing companies. Some of his corporate shows have included Ford Motor Company, TD Bank, Nissan, AT&T, Phillips, and Walmart.
Tours and shows by Ed Sheeran, Janet Jackson, Shania Twain, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill and Taylor Swift have leaned on his expertise. Concert events with Aerosmith, Whitney Houston, Prince and Bruce Springsteen (where Barry was Emmy-nominated as Technical Director) are part of a career spanning nearly three decades…alongside such events as the MTV Awards, The ESPYs, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, CMA Awards and NBC’s Macy’s 4th of July Celebration. He’s worked with Imagineering (in Singapore and Taiwan) – his path includes shows and events in Europe, Asia, South America and across North America.
A Michigan native who calls Nashville home, Barry’s self-professed superpower is the ability to find solutions and fix things. He also grills a flawless steak, knows how to create the perfect roast, and makes an incredible Eggs Benedict (with his own homemade Hollandaise)
